What do Beyonce, Michael Jackson, Usher, and Britney Spears all have in common?
They have all worked under the watchful eye of Courtney Miller Jr.
Courtney started dancing in his mother's living room at the age of 13 with his twin sisters. By the age of 16 he
was both dancing professionally and attending the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. In a short time he
was making a name for himself as one of the top dancers in Los Angeles.
In 1992 at the age of 18, he danced with Michael Jackson on the amazing video "Remember the Time."
That would not be the last time the two would work together.
In 1993 on his 19th birthday, Courtney and Michael worked together again on the American Music Awards for the
historic dance performance "Dangerous." During rehearsals for the performance, choreographers LaVelle Smith and
Travis Payne quickly took note of Courtney's dancing and choreographic abilities. By 1993 the three created a
choreographic team called "LTC."
Beginning in 1994 and completing in 1996, "The Team" choreographed some of the hottest performances on television
including: The Emmy Nominated "Dangerous" for the 1995 MTV Awards, Michael Jackson's "Ghosts," and the most
expensive video ever made, "Scream."
In 2002 Courtney now working on his own, choreographed a music video and commercial for Disney star Raven Symone for Disney's top
television show "That's So Raven." He's since gone on to choreograph 5 episodes of the hit show, including "The
Road to Audition," the most watched television episode in Disney history.
In 2003 Courtney choreographed Disney's smash hit "Cheetah Girls." The memorable music videos helped the movie soundtrack sell over 1
million copies, the most ever for a Disney television soundtrack.
Courtney's relationship with Disney has continued. Using students from Elite Dance Conventions as dancers, he has choreographed Music Videos for Disney Movies:
Lion King 1½, The Haunted Mansion, and Tarzan 2.
